The parish council is hosting an event to mark the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings in northern France which marked the start of campaign to liberate Europe during World War II. The event will be held in the grounds of Kingston Bagpuize House on the evening of Thursday, culminating in the lighting of a beacon at 9.15pm as part of a countrywide commemoration. Entrance and the entertainment is free – food and drink can be purchased (licensed bar). There will be a raffle on the night so please bring cash.
