I moved from South Africa to the UK in 2005 where I met my husband, Richard: we have one son who attends John Blandy Primary School. I worked for BT for the Head of Strategic University Research for 2 years and then Savills in the Commercial Department. I took a career break when our son was born and this has enabled me to become more involved my local communities. I was approached to help run the mums and tots group that our son attended. It was well supported by the local community and I became fully involved in organising group events. It was from these that I become involved with a charity that supporting parents who had lost a baby. As a mum I felt moved by this very worthy cause and have organised a number of fundraising events, which were well supported and raised considerable amounts of money.
In 2014 we relocated to Miami where I was very active in the local community. We returned to the UK in 2016 and moved to West Berkshire where I joined a local association as their fundraiser. One day we took a drive into Oxfordshire using the back roads, which led us into Kingston Bagpuize and we fell in love with the village, a house that suited all our needs and the surrounding areas.
I am honoured to serve and support the villages of Kingston Bagpuize and Southmoor as a parish councillor.
